Dr. Mark Riederer is a third-generation Southeast Alaskan who has spent his career treating the community he grew up in. He’s been the Juneau dentist for many local families since he opened this practice in 1986, which means he has seen his own fillings, crowns, and implants age in real patients’ mouths over decades rather than reading about how they perform in a journal.
That changes how he plans treatment. When you have followed the same families for thirty years, you learn quickly which shortcuts come back to bite and which conservative choices quietly hold. Dr. Riederer plans for the version of your mouth that exists in twenty years, not the one that photographs well next month.

Training that expands your options
Dr. Riederer is a graduate of the Kois Center for advanced dental education in Seattle, one of the more demanding continuing education programs in the field. He is certified in the Pinhole Surgical Technique, a way of correcting gum recession without a scalpel or stitches, and he is an experienced Invisalign provider.
You won’t get a lecture
Plenty of people arrive here after five, ten, or twenty years away from a dental chair, usually because of something that went badly somewhere else. Dr. Riederer will show you where things stand and give you a plan you can start on, in whatever order your schedule and budget allow.
Outside the office
Dr. Riederer donates his time, skills, and resources to dental care both in Juneau and well beyond it, including volunteer work at the Maasai Dental Clinic in East Africa. Closer to home, he spends his time off the way most people who choose to stay in Southeast Alaska do: fishing, skiing, and snowboarding.
He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Alaska Dental Society.

Yes, we accept most dental insurances and bill your plan as a courtesy, collecting copays at the time of service. Call (907) 789-3100 before you book, and we’ll look at your coverage with you.
It has been years since I saw a dentist. Is that a problem?
No. A meaningful share of our new patients have been away a long time, and the appointment is about mapping where you are now and building a realistic plan, not reviewing your history.
